Thieves Strike Holiday Shoppers

Fayetteville police warned shoppers to keep their valuables out of sight after several break-ins over the weekend.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police warned shoppers to keep their valuables out of sight after several break-ins over the weekend.

Police reported several incidents in which thieves smashed a vehicle's windows, took some valuables inside and then fled the scene. Among the items taken were iPods, CDs and shopping bags.

Officers recommended leaving valuables in the trunk of cars.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity in a parking lot or neighborhood is asked to call 911 immediately.
