Thief snags drugs from Cary pharmacy

Police were searching Friday for a man who stole a "significant amount" of drugs from a Cary pharmacy.

CARY, N.C. — Police were searching Friday for a man who stole a "significant amount" of drugs from a Cary pharmacy.

The CVS at 5859 Tryon Road was robbed Wednesday afternoon, police said. No weapons were used in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The man didn't take any money, only a number of doses of oxycodone, a pain-killer often used as a recreational drug.

The thief is described as a white male between 18 and 25 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 160 to 165 pounds, with sandy-colored hair. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark shirt and dark pants.
