Henderson police are looking for a thief who broke into a funeral home Tuesday and stole embalming fluid and an embalming machine.

Police think whoever stole the items doesn’t want them for their intended purpose.

"It is known that some users smoke cigarettes or marijuana dipped in embalming fluid," investigators said in a statement.

The dipped cigarette is a hallucinogen that would give the smoker an effect similar to the drug PCP, investigators said.

The theft happened at Garnes and Toney Funeral Home, 806 E. Henderson Ave.

Owner Antonio Toney said more than 100 bottles of embalming fluid were stolen. Some had been recovered Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to call Henderson police at 252-438-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925. Crime Stoppers offers a reward for information leading to an arrest, and callers never have to identify themselves.

It is also used to "cut" cocaine to create crack.

My friend is a mortician at a funeral home & I asked him why someone would steal embalming fluid. His response was: "Kids think dipping drugs in it enhances the high. Its a myth and very dangerous. That is why we alway keep our chemicals under safe lock and key".

All I can say is..... gross.

Embalming fluid is formaldehyde.....jet fuel is kerosene.

Dummy

Gracious...I remember this from the 80's. It was called "wack" as in "Man that dude is wacked out". I had thought this trend had gone away for good. They would dip a cigarette or a joint into jet fuel or embalming fluid, let it dry and then smoke it. So if someone offers you a yellowish cigarette or joint, do yourself a favor and take a pass on it. Most I saw that partook of wack didn't come back, it causes severe brain damage to memory and cognitive functions. This truly sad to me.
