Posted March 10
Your man may tell you that you are the best wife in the world, but if you do these 20 things, it'll be true:
1. Feed him
The common saying “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” is still true. Very true. Take the time to make his favorite meal and avoid making the ones he doesn’t like.
2. Pick your battles with him
You don’t need fight over everything. If he is having a hard month at work, maybe don’t mention that he keeps forgetting to put the lid on the toothpaste.
3. Keep his secrets
Talk to him, not about him. If he confides something in you, don’t share it with your friends, even if they promise not to tell. His secrets are his to share and yours to keep.
4. Laugh with him
Finding joy in the small things can save a rescue a relationship going through a hard time. Something as simple as making your man laugh will maek your relationship stronger.
5. Value his time
Your mister is probably busy, and so are you. So when he makes time for you, treasure it and make the most of it. Perhaps you have 100 things you need to get done, but forget about your to-do list for a bit and spend time with your honey.
6. Meet his needs
He has emotional needs. Take time to listen to how he is feeling and talk about the things he is interested in. When you support him, he will do the same for you.
7. Schedule in intimacy
He has sexual needs, but so do you. Make your bedroom a sanctuary for intimacy. Try to keep electronics and other distractions outside of the bedroom. Then, you can just focus on each other.
8. Don’t try to change him
You fell in love with your man for a reason. If you truly love him, then you won’t want to change him. The best wife in the world treasures her man for who he is.
9. Have realistic expectations of him
You can’t expect your husband to read your mind, or work full time and take care of all the household chores. Sit down and share your expectations and let him share his expectations for you and then compromise.
10. Leave him notes
Simple and sweet notes left on the mirror, fridge or slipped into his wallet will bring a smile to your husbands face. He will be able to see and feel how much you love him.
11. Accept mutual mistakes
You both make mistakes, so admit when you've slipped up. You don’t always need to be right.
12. Create a positive home environment
The home should be a place he can’t wait to come back to. Positive doesn’t mean perfect, it means uplifting — a sanctuary away from the world.
13. Be excited for him
If he has succeeded at something, celebrate together! Support him in his successes and failures and be genuinely excited for any progress he is making. He will appreciate that support.
14. Be happy around him
Happiness is infectious. If you have a hard day, it’s okay to be sad or upset. But when you can, be happy.
15. Respect him
Many men feel loved when they are respected. Respect his decisions, feelings and way of doing things. Respect is a two way street; He will respect and love you as you respect and love him.
16. Be his best friend
Laugh, play, cry and rejoice with him. He should be your best friend and you should be his. Your man will know you better than anyone else. Be there for him, like he is there for you.
17. Let him be your #1
Children, friends and parents (and yourself) should all be second place to your husband. The best wife always makes her man her number one priority.
18. Be yourself
There is nothing a man likes more than when his wife is comfortable in her own skin and isn’t afraid to show it. Let your inner confidence shine around him.
19. Allow him to have guy time
Be OK by yourself. Your man will be grateful for the chance to get away with the guys. He needs guy friends just like you need girl friends.
20. Surprise him
A romantic date, especially when it involves something your husband loves, is always a great way to show your love and appreciation. He'll let anyone who will listen long enough that he truly has the best wife if you surprise him like this.
The best wife in the world isn’t perfect, but she is trying to be the best she can be. And remember: when you love your husband, you are the best wife in the world for him.
