The House passed an overhaul to the unemployment system on Tuesday, while the Senate blocked an expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.

Meanwhile, Democrats accused Republicans of a power grab after a Senate bill was introduced calling for all sitting members of several state boards and commissions to be fired and replaced with GOP appointees.

Sorry. I forget that some people can't comprehend what they read very well. I'll spell it out for you. Republicans were elected en masse (that means many, a lot) last November. Hope that's better.

Republicans attacking struggling families.

I am guessing that the "assigned" buzz phrase for Leslie and Binker in covering the Legislature is "POWER GRAB".

Just an observation for you two. The Legislature was elected by the people of North Carolina. You were both hired by a very liberal news organization.

You are not entitled to legislate by keyboard or pen ink.

Please try substituting "some think" in your reporting with "we think".

That is more honest.

After what--well over 100 years of Demorat control--it is now somehow a "power grab" for the Republicans to govern as they were elected to do?? Please--spare me the utter hypocrisy..
