From live music to a soap star hitting the comedy stage, this week is looking good in the Triangle.

Monday: Fire in the Triangle continues their quarterfinal rounds this week with chefs from The Oxford, Midtown Grille, Market and Jimmy V's.

Tuesday: Urinetown opens at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. This musical comedy is a tale of "greed, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold." A 20-year drought has led to officials ban public toilets, forcing people to pay to go to the bathroom. A hero emerges to save the day. Heard this show is a riot!
Wednesday: Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls play Time Warner Cable Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh.
Multiple guitars are found on stage inside the John W. Pope Convocation Center before the Goo Goo Dolls perform on the campus of Campbell University on Wednesday April 17, 2013.

Thursday: General Hospital's Maurice Bernard will perform at Goodnight's Comedy Club. I had no idea that Sonny Corinthos had a sense of humor. Guess he does.
Bonus picks: OC7 continues in downtown Raleigh with Big Something headlining. The Midtown Beach Music Series at North Hills welcomes Liquid Pleasure.

Friday: Country star and reality singing competition TV judge Blake Shelton plays the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek.
