Monday

See The Atomic Rhythm All-Stars jam at Neptunes every Monday night this month. The seven-piece band recreates the sounds of the 1920s and 30s.
Head to The Pinhook in Durham for the Monday Night Showcase featuring a variety of Triangle-area performers.

Tuesday

Ragtime: The Musical opens tonight at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium tonight. The show runs through Sunday.
Also tonight, see the Canes take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PNC Arena.

Wednesday

Enjoy some jazz tonight at Beyu Caffe in Durham. The Youth Jazz Jammers kick things off at 7 p.m. This group of musicians, ages 8 to 18 years old, who are encouraged to bring a song they'd like to play or an original ensemble piece. Afterwards, drummer Kobie Watkins heads up the College to Pro Jazz Jam.

Thursday

Aaron Lewis, founder and lead singer of the band Staind, plays The Ritz tonight. Tickets are $27.50.
Also tonight, The Pinhook in Durham holds an Underground Beat Battle featuring some of the area's best talent. There will be beat battles, freestyle battles and more. Admission is $5.

Friday

Comedian Lewis Black plays DPAC tonight. Tickets start at $40.
