RALEIGH, N.C. — A look at some events to help get you to the weekend:

Monday

Sip and Sleuth: Beer Off Flavors - Become a more sophisticated beer drinker, while having fun at this event at Raleigh Brewing Company presented by Geeks-n-Taps. Trained beer testers take you through 24 different flavors. You will also taste five different Raleigh Brewing beers. Tickets are $15.
Some great music tonight at Cat's Cradle. Gabriel Kahane will join the NC Symphony String Quartet and special guest Jennifer Curtis for an evening of eclectic chamber music. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day-of the show.

Tuesday

Enjoy some sushi! Our friends at The Point are hosting a $20 sushi tasting at Basan in Durham. Great food and company.
The Julian Hatfield Three, which are celebrating their 21st anniversary, play Cat's Cradle tonight. Tickets are $20.

Wednesday

Whole Foods Market in Durham is hosting a Local Beer dinner tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. featuring brews from Double Barley in Smithfield. The four course dinner is $30 per person.

Thursday

Country crooner Josh Turner performs at the DPAC. Tickets start at $36.
"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" opens tonight at Kenan Recital Hall at William Peace University in Raleigh. The musical comedy runs through Sunday.

Friday

Make some noise for STOMP, which plays the DPAC, this weekend. Tickets start at $25.
Comedian Katt Williams brings his "Born Again..Again" tour to the PNC Arena tonight. Tickets start at $47.
