Popular authors participating include Frances Mayes, Wilton Barnhardt, Walt Wolfram, Cat Warren, R.L. Stine and more.

In downtown Durham, the four-day Full Frame Documentary Film Festival begins. The event features over 100 documentary screenings, panel discussions and parties. Tickets to individual films are $15, although there are several free screenings and events.

And the Durham Bulls open their season on Thursday against the Gwinnett Braves. Fans will get a chance to see the newly renovated DBAP.

Popular comedian Katt Williams comes to PNC Arena Friday evening for what's sure to be a hilarious, high-energy show.

Yet another festival kicks off Friday – the Oaks and Spokes Bike Festival begins with a fun group bike ride through Raleigh and a bike art show at Benelux Cafe.

And it's also First Friday! Later in the week we will have more information on First Friday specials and events.
