The week ahead: Durham Bulls, Full Frame Fest

See guitarist Marc Ribot at Cat's Cradle tonight. His live performances have been described as unpredictable events that include a mix of "memory, free improvisation, zeitgeist, extra-terrestrial radio signals and more."

The classically trained south Florida duo Black Violin plays Carolina Theatre of Durham. Their shows blend classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B and even bluegrass music.

Million Dollar Quartet begins its short run at the DPAC. The Tony award-winning musical is inspired by the true story of the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. Tickets start at $30. Shows are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Lonerider Brewery will host a beer dinner at The Pit in Durham. The four-course dinner is $50 per person.

Also, the Carrboro Farmers Market kicks off its Wednesday season with a food truck rodeo and live music.

The Durham Bulls hit the field for their home opener at Durham Bulls Athletic Park tonight. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m.

A night of rock at The Ritz in Raleigh tonight as Halestorm, Lita Ford and Dorothy hit the stage. Tickets start at $29. Over at Lincoln Theatre, Elle King plays a sold out show.

Raleigh Brewing is teaming up with ORO in downtown Raleigh for a tap takeover this month. They are kicking things off with a beer dinner tonight. You get four courses and four beers for $50.

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival also kicks off today. In its 19th year, the four-day event will feature more than 100 films and panel discussions at various locations in downtown Durham.

Actor and comedian Joel McHale will play DPAC tonight. Tickets start at $35.

Rock 'n' Roll Raleigh Marathon weekend kicks off with a performance by Gavin DeGraw at Red Hat Amphitheatre. Tickets are $28.
