Monday

See Grammy award winner Shelby Lynne at Carolina Theatre of Durham tonight. Tickets start at $26.

Tuesday

High school musical theater students are competing for scholarships tonight at the DPAC during the Triangle Rising Stars show. Tickets are $10.

Head to Gonza Tacos y Tequila in Wake Forest for a fundraiser for Saving Grace Animal Rescue and Adoption. Bring your dogs and dine on the patio. A portion of the Patio night's proceeds will go to the nonprofit.

Wednesday

The Hob Nob Jazz Series at Koka Booth Amphitheatre continues with the Stanley Baird group featuring vocalist Connie Rogers. Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 12 years and younger are admitted for free.

Thursday

Natty Greene's hosts the first Raleigh Beer Mile and Instant Gratification Run. The run starts at 6:30 p.m. It is a benefit for the Triangle Spokes Group, a non-profit organization that raises money to deliver new bicycles to need-worthy children throughout the Triangle area.

The Midtown Beach Music Series continues tonight with Band of Oz. The show is free and starts at 6 p.m. in the commons area at North Hills in Raleigh.

Friday

The WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest kicks off tonight with a mass ascension of more than 40 balloons at Bennett Bunn Plantation in Zebulon. The balloons will go up around 6 p.m. and a balloon glow will take place at around 8 p.m. Admission is free! Get more info about the festival.

Dave Matthews Band plays two sets - an acoustic and electric - tonight at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh.
