The Raleigh School, a private school near the PNC Arena, will hold a special meeting for parents of diverse and multi-cultural backgrounds next month.

The Raleigh School's Diversity Admission Morning is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Oct. 28, at the school at 1141 Raleigh School Dr. The non-profit, non-religious independent school serves about 400 children from ages 2 years to fifth grade.

The school strives to build a diverse and inclusive learning community so children can appreciate and value all people, admissions director Sharon Mitchell tells me. The Oct. 28 event is designed to encourage families from diverse backgrounds to learn more about the school and what it offers.

The morning includes a tour of the campus. Participants also will meet and hear from school administrators and current parents. They'll be able to see students and teachers in the classroom.

To RSVP for the morning, email Mitchell at smitchell@raleighschool.org.
