The Easter Bunnies are coming! Find out about Easter happenings

Posted March 6, 2013

More than 4,000 Easter eggs filled the grassy fields at Pullen Park.

Easter gets here early this year. The big day is March 31.

The Easter Bunny will begin making appearances at local malls for photos starting this Saturday. And we have many Easter egg hunts across the region starting next weekend. Check our Easter events database and's Out & About calendar.

And for more Easter-related information, read about Raleigh parks' decision to nix candy at its egg hunts and about local photographers offering Easter pictures with real bunnies and chicks.

Happy Easter!

Hi springtime! Good question. Many of the big egg hunts are packed and very busy. Most of them separate the hunts based on age. So there is a section for the toddlers, another for preschoolers and so on. You can check with individual egg hunts on this. She may just have fun watching all of the big kids and then having your own little egg hunt at home.

I have a little one and would love for her to be able to just get one or two eggs...she is just starting to walk so it is a slow process. I am worried that the big ones like pullen park that I would like to take her too will be crazy busy. Any suggestions for a good egg hunt that will not be overwhelmed with kids that she will have then all grabbed up in front of her???
