The Clean Cut: Netflix posts 'The Little Prince' trailer, announces release date

Posted May 28

With an all-star cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd and James Franco, Netflix is set to release its animated film “The Little Prince” on Aug. 5.

Netflix posted a trailer to YouTube Thursday that provides a brief glimpse at the movie, which is based on the 1943 book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

“A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to prepare her for it,” the video description on YouTube reads. “Her neighbor, the Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, the world of the Little Prince.”

The film was originally scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures in the United States in March, according to Time, but it was dropped by the studio, and the rights were acquired by Netflix.
