Although auditions for the 2016 season of "Britain’s Got Talent" are still in progress, a 14-year-old girl is headed straight to the semifinals.
Each of the four judges and two hosts of the show can press a golden buzzer once during the audition process, sending a specific act straight to the semifinals. Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, the hosts of "Britain’s Got Talent," pressed the golden buzzer following 14-year-old Jasmine Elcock's performance.
As Jasmine sang her version of Cher’s “Believe,” a video of the performance showed audience members with their mouths open in amazement, her parents smiling and one of the judges with tears in her eyes.
“When she walked onto that stage, I don’t think anybody expected that big and beautiful voice to come out of her mouth,” McPartlin told ITV. “We were stood on the side of the stage with her father, and he was just bursting with pride. Then we looked out at the judges, and every single one of them had a huge smile on their faces — even Simon! Alesha was in tears, and the audience’s reaction was like nothing we had experienced that day. We had to press our buzzer, she was just amazing, and we can’t wait to see what she does in the live shows.”
