Test prep, college essay writing and more: Wade Edwards Learning Lab lines up programs for teens

Got middle schoolers or high schoolers in Wake County? You should check out the many programs that the Wade Edwards Learning Lab in Raleigh has lined up.

Here's a sampling:

Tutoring: Students can sign up online now for after school tutoring. Tutoring kicks off on Oct. 2. (They also could use tutors in just about every subject).

ACT/SAT Prep: The center offers an ACT or SAT Boot Camp. The next one is Sept. 30. Registration is open. Families who qualify can get a reduced fee.

SAT Refresher Workshop: For high school seniors who plan to take another stab at the SAT. Registration is $75 for the four-hour course. They are scheduled for 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 1 and Oct. 29.

College Essay Writing Workshop: The WELL and Raleigh Tutoring are offering a two-part College Essay Workshop in October. The workshop is being offered on two consecutive Sundays, Oct. 15 and Oct. 22, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration is $150.
LEAP: This program for seniors is designed to help students make the right decisions for their lives after high school. Program begins on Oct. 2. Registration is open now.
GAPS: The center's Geospatial Mapping program begins in a month. The eight-week program will take place on Saturday mornings for students in grades eight to ten who are interested in STEM.
