— Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines was put on lockdown for about 30 minutes Wednesday afternoon after a bicyclist reported to 911 that two men near the school's campus pointed a gun at him.

Two 16-year-olds were apprehended on the school's sports field shortly after 4 p.m. Police confiscated two BB guns from the teens, whose names were not released.

The lockdown was lifted after the arrests.

Doesn't it seem alittle unusual that 2- 16 yr old boys were on the School field without any adults around. What about after school activities and the schools resource officers. Did no one happen to notice these 2 out on the field playing around and consider it just a little bit suspious in any way. Seems like they don't really keep full patrol around campus like they should to protect the students. If they can get a BB gun on campus what else do they bring that no one knows about.
