Teens injured in four-wheeler wreck

Two teens were injured on Friday night after they were hit by a car while riding on a four-wheeler near Zebulon, the state Highway Patrol said.

ZEBULON, N.C. — A car struck a four-wheeler crossing a road near Zebulon Friday night, injuring two teenagers, state troopers said.

Troopers said that a 13-year-old and 15-year-old were riding together and pulled into the path of an oncoming car when they attempted to cross Richardson Road.

The teens were being treated at Duke University Hospital and WakeMed Hospital. Their names were not released.

No one in the car was hurt.

Troopers said they did not expect to file any charges.
