Clayton authorities said teens discovered a man's remains Thursday evening in a creek bed near Amelia Village Apartments.

— Clayton authorities said teens discovered a man's remains Thursday evening in a creek bed near Amelia Village Apartments.

According to authorities, the body was pulled from the water just before 7 p.m.

Authorities were working to identify the person, but do not expect to have a positive identity until Friday when an autopsy is scheduled.

    Yes, that is correct, Jason. The county EMS units generally stay busy with those in need of emergency medical attention in their own areas or covering adjacent areas of the county. So, normally, Johnston Ambulance Service is used to transport the deceased. JAS also has trained EMT's who can provide backup for county units when needed.

    The county uses contracot agency for body transport to keep the 911 truck in service for emergencies

    It seems strange that with all the ems units the county has, that they would bring in a contract transport unit.
