Posted August 24, 2011

— A 15-year-old charged in the death of his mother in Henderson will be tried as an adult, authorities said Wednesday.

Jaquareus Holden is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Letitia Hammond.

Hammond, 33, was shot six times on the right side of her body, including twice in the arm, chest and head, according to the report by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill.

Henderson police said that Hammond's 13-year-old daughter found her mother's body in their home on South Carolina Avenue on June 15.

Authorities haven't disclosed a possible motive in the case.

Holden turns 16 years old this week.

I have read most of these post, and I can beleive that someone really believes that whupping a child, caused the child to do this. My mama would beat me with a belt. And I turned out pretty good.
I learned respect for my parents. I treated others the same. I didn't think of killing them cause I got my back side smacked.

75% of Kids today are spoiled. They are allowed to act disrespectful. They have no respect for others or themselves. They think the world owes them something, cause thier weak parents did not have the gull to raise them correctly.

I am glad I did not grow up in this generation. My parents were tuff, but they raised me with beliefs, honor and respect.

Wow! I couldn't ever imagine anyone doing something so bad to me, that I would kill them. ESPECIALLY not a parent! This is crazy!!! My guess is he didn't get spankings growing up, because I surely did, and I knew better than to do anything bad!

cantbtaught - that is the most craziest thing i have EVER, EVER, EVER heard. when i deserved it, my parents tore me up. in my 30+ YEARS not once have i ever thought about offing either of them. heck, i was too afraid to even run away from home. believe me you, i'm BEYOND grateful for those beatings. they kept me out of jail, kept me from drinking kept from running the streets and kept me from smoking cigarettes and using drugs. i'm guessing this kid wasn't whopped on enough. but they'll take care of that in big boy jail....

cantbtaught, do you know somthing about this case that the rest of us don't know? Or are you just using this as an excuse to push your agenda?

The age where people are tried as adults needs to be pushed back to about 14-15 anyway.
