FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 16-year-old is suspected of shooting a person found critically wounded inside a stolen car on Bragg Boulevard early Friday, police said.

Police said they found the victim shot inside a Ford Escort in the median of the 5100 block of Bragg Boulevard around 7:15 a.m. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was in critical condition in the late afternoon.

Officers took Devonta Maurice Bandy into custody shortly after the shooting, and investigators determined that he shot the victim, police said. Charges against Bandy are pending.

Investigators also found that the Ford had been reported stolen from Cameron before the shooting.
