For those living n that area, you will not see a trafficlight, stop signs and anything to prevent that. There are not enough injuries or death to warrant that action, remember the lady that was killed a few years back on Raeford Rd. city and state said that was the reason they did not put one there.

I'm curious as to how the "bigger question" is why was he crossing the street? I live in Glenn Reilly and came upon the scene on my way home from work. I have two teenagers who have friends from other neighborhoods surrounding Reilly. Some of which happen to be across the street. All these kids were doing was crossing to go to the store like a million other kids do. It could have been one of my kids crossing to go to a friends house. Maybe if people followed the posted speed limit then less of this would happen. I cross my fingers every afternoon trying to turn into my street because of heavy traffic and speeders...Is it a good idea for people to cross Reilly Rd? Maybe not...but this child didn't deserve to die for it...The city needs to do something now...Stop lights need to be at both entrances to Glenn Reilly and at the Burger King intersection...

@kbarefoot, the reason for him crossing the street isn't important.... He was coming back from the grocery store if you must know.... Also residents are pushing for a stop light and crosswalk at that location... Pedestrian bridge is a good idea too but i'm not sure if the city has the budget to construct one.

Instead of asking why there wasn't another stop light or a crosswalk, let's ask the bigger question... Why way a 15 year old child crossing one of the busiest streets at the busiest time of the day? I live very near this area and this isn't the first pedestrian death there. Maybe a pedestrian bridge would be a good idea if people are going to insist on crossing at such a dangerous area.

I use to live in that area and it was dangerous back then. They put the median in the middle and it made it worse. Prayers to the victims family and the lady that hit him. Why are here no cross walks where the lights are at?

I'm very familiar with that stretch of S. Reilly Road since I have a rental home in that area. I've been saying for years that the city needed to put another stoplight in that particular area. People who are walking and even those attempting to pull out onto the road during the Ft. Bragg rush hour literally have to put their lives on the line every day. I hate to see this child lose their life due to the city of Fayetteville being too cheap to fork over the cash for traffic and pedestrian safety.

Sad. That is a dangerous road during that period of time. Thousands of Soldiers trying to get off this post...

I wonder if this is the same Karen Adamson in Fayetteville at the local high school??

Prayers go out to both the pedestrian and driver.
