Durham, N.C. — A 12-year-old girl was criticallly injured Monday when her bicycle collided with a pickup truck in Durham, police said.
The collision happened on N.C. Highway 751 near Calibre Park Drive.
Police said Kassie Graves was riding a bike near the entrance to Bridges of Southpoint apartments when she ran a stop sign and hit the side of a truck heading north on N.C. 751.
Graves was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill for treatment. Her condition was not available.
The driver of the pickup, Gary Harris, 59, of Haw River, was not injured. Investigators said speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors and that they don't plan to file charges.
The road was closed for more than two hours after the collision.
