HARRELLS, N.C. — A teenager who walked away from a therapeutic home in Harrells has been found safe, according to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Adam Miller, 13, left the home at 3784 Wildcat Road on Sunday morning, according to the sheriff's office. He had walked away twice before, authorities said, but he always returned.

Deputies patrolling the area spotted Joshua walking on the shoulder of the road. They determined that he had been staying at a house nearby.

Authorities were investigating the residents who provided shelter for Joshua to find out why they didn't notify law enforcement officials of his whereabouts.
