Durham, N.C. — Troopers on Thursday said a teenager is facing more than a dozen charges after he led them on a chase from Durham into Person County.
Authorities responded around midnight to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Tracy Trail in north Durham. The vehicle was considered suspicious because it matched a report of a vehicle seen at prior break-ins, troopers said.
The vehicle, which was driven by a person who is younger than 16 years old, did not have its headlights on when troopers arrived. The driver then took off, running stop signs before the trooper used a precision immobilization technique maneuver to stop the chase at Terry and Satterfield roads in Hurdle Mills.
The driver, who was not identified, was not injured.
