I hope this was a simple error of judgement and not a suicide attempt. I tried-and was almost successful-committing suicide years ago because I was fed up with how other people acted-it was so overwhelming-the chaos where I lived that I just did not think it would ever end and the only way to get peace was to well you know. Thank God my spouse kicked the door in to our house and intervened and he is the reason I am sitting here today. I did not really want to be successful at it but at the time I was just like I said fed up. But, why should I do such a thing or even make myself miserable because other people can't live a day without drama or a life without violence with it? I pray the young man will see the light through this experience and will come to find his life matters to those who love him and especially God.

Was this a suicide attempt, or a misjudgement? He may have thought he was jumping on to an embankment, or like the two men who did a few years back on the beltline. http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/6507148/

I saw him as the police got there. Luckily he didn't jump into 64 traffic. He could have killed himself as well as a driver.

No need to report more. Being a teen is hard enough. Obviously this kid is experiencing depression. People who have not experienced depression really cannot relate to genuinely believing there is a better day ahead. It's hard to fathom wanting to kill myself today. But years ago I was in a dark place and wanted to die.
It's good to report to bring light to the issue that has historically had negative connotations. God has a plan for this kid. That's a big jump. Hopefully no head injuries.

I am the spouse of someone who attempted suicide twice by overdose and by the grace of God survived. Prayers for this young man and his family that healing will take place.

Know the family. There's a lot of different story lines on twitter but I won't pass them on without knowing for sure. Praying for the family and a speedy recovery.
