Teen found dead in Raleigh community pool

Crews responded to a home in the 2200 block of Valley Forge Road in Raleigh Saturday evening where a woman was found dead in a neighborhood pool.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Crews responded to the 2200 block of Valley Forge Road, in Raleigh's Heritage Point neighborhood, Saturday evening where a woman was found dead in a community pool.

Wake County deputies and a Duke Energy Progress truck responded to a drowning call at about 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, a 17-year-old girl was pulled from the water and confirmed dead.

According to authorities, the incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
