Teen found dead after suspicious fire, police say
Rocky Mount police said that firefighters found a 17-year-old boy dead after a suspicious fire at a home on Silver Leaf Road early Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police said that firefighters found a 17-year-old boy dead after a suspicious fire at a home on Silver Leaf Road early Thursday.
Firefighters were called out to 7201 Silver Leaf Road shortly before 3 a.m. After the fire was put out, firefighters found the body of Chavalis Boyd in the front the front bedroom, police said.
Investigators were working to determine the cause of the Boyd's death and of the fire.
A medical examiner in Greenville will conduct an autopsy on Boyd.
