ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A Gaston teen was arrested Wednesday in connection with a weekend shooting death in Roanoke Rapids, police said.

Officers responding to a vehicle collision at Monroe and Preston streets Saturday night found that a driver who hit a parked vehicle had been shot. The person, whose name hasn't been released, died at a nearby hospital.

Investigators determined that the victim had been shot in the 100 block of Monroe Street and fled the area in a vehicle before crashing.

Police haven't released any details for a possible motive in the shooting or what evidence links Manning to the crime.
