Teen charged in fatal Fayetteville shooting

Posted August 8, 2011

— A 16-year-old is charged with murder after a man was found critically wounded inside a stolen car on Bragg Boulevard on Friday, police said.

Police said they found James William Lowery Jr., 39, shot inside a Ford Escort in the median of the 5100 block of Bragg Boulevard around 7:15 a.m. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died on Saturday.

Officers took Devonta Maurice Bandy into custody shortly after the shooting. He was charged Monday with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators also found that the Ford had been reported stolen from Cameron before the shooting.

I doubt that this kid will do more than 3 years at the most before he is paroled and back on the block.

People, stop asking such questions, its society's fault! We have failed these kids and you know it just as good as I do. We have given them everything that we could based on our welfare payments and sometimes that's just not enough. If we gave them the love, attention, discipline and a sense of caring they would not be out there shooting, robbing, killing or doing the other things that we find so distasteful. Look to yourself for the answers!

26, stealing cars and picking up T/S hookers and killing them. Fine upstanding youth. So true, another wasted life. Two in fact.
