— A former Cumberland County teacher pleaded guilty to felony charges Monday stemming from his relationship with a student.

While he was teaching at Gray's Creek High School, Matthew King dated an 18-year-old student. According to law, it's a felony for a teacher and a student at the same school to engage in immoral activities, no matter the student's age.

King was convicted of a felony crime against nature. He is on probation and is banned from having any contact with the student.

So if it was a "male" teacher, would it have been considered rape or would the same charge apply?

Welp, she wanted it, and he gave it to her.

If the teacher was charged with crimes against nature, then I'll bet the student was a male, not a female. And regardless, even if it was a female, teachers in the public school system are not supposed to have personal relationships with students. That is off limits and all the teachers know it.

I have to agree with y'all - I'm having difficulty with this one. I see both sides of it but a felony? This 18 year old can drive a car, vote and join the service if I'm not mistaken. Like said earlier, after school had wrapped up NOTHING could have been done about it....hhhmmmm.

I guess some of these teachers do not take the laws serious. They are truly making believers out of them, which is good to me. Get the bad apples out the bunch!!

Crimes against nature can be for male/female if a law is broken. In this case the law WAS broken (teacher/student).

Since this was "crime against nature" the 18 year old sounds like a young man rather than a woman.
