Fayetteville, N.C. — A former Cumberland County teacher pleaded guilty to felony charges Monday stemming from his relationship with a student.
While he was teaching at Gray's Creek High School, Matthew King dated an 18-year-old student. According to law, it's a felony for a teacher and a student at the same school to engage in immoral activities, no matter the student's age.
King was convicted of a felony crime against nature. He is on probation and is banned from having any contact with the student.
