Teacher Busted in Meth Crackdown Sentenced

A former Johnston County elementary school teacher arrested in a county-wide methamphetamine bust in October was ordered Tuesday to attend a diversion program.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A former Johnston County elementary school teacher arrested in a county-wide methamphetamine bust in October was ordered Tuesday to attend a diversion program.

Amy Snead, 37, of Four Oaks, was charged with possession of an immediate precursor chemical and exceeding the pseudoephedrine limit but was sentenced on a reduced charge.

Snead taught second grade at Polenta Elementary until her arrest. She was placed on leave and later resigned.
