Tax day 'tea party' planned in Raleigh

A conservative activist group plans a rally Thursday outside the state capitol in Raleigh to mark the day that income taxes must be filed.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A conservative activist group has planned a rally Thursday outside the state capitol in Raleigh to mark the day that income taxes must be filed.

Triangle Conservatives Unite issued the public invitation to a Tax Day Tea Party to be held at 5 p.m. Speakers at the event include Claude E. Pope Jr., chairman of the Wake County Republican Party and several of those running for Congress from North Carolina.
