Observant if you find a good deal on the Turkey breast please let us know. I have to be careful too since being gluten free. Thanks.

Whew, I'm glad they didn't make you ill JDouglas, that's what I thought you meant and I was thinking "am I playing russian roulette here? :)

  • jdouglas13 Apr 13, 2014

PR, for us it was the flavor that was off in the turkey. Not off like it went bad, but off like chemicals or something injected. I remember you saying the in the past that you bought them and enjoyed them. I wish they had worked out for us! $0.99/lb is such a great deal.

    Thank You !!
    - I have a friend that had a bad experience with one also - she lives in Greensboro and cooked hers in crockpot .
PRV - thank you fro checking yours - that was so kind of you !
    - With those stats I will have to pass - can not risk killing my son now that I have him grown (LOL).
Kroger sometimes carries low sodium fresh & frozen turkey breasts( not injected) - hoping for good prices in the ad Wednesday !
Thank You again for helping me !!

JDouglas, I'm surprised to hear you had a bad time with the turkey breast. I've cooked no less than 4 of them in the last year and they always come out so tender and moist! Maybe it's because I cook them in the crock pot?

  • jdouglas13 Apr 13, 2014

Observant, this is just my opinion. I bought one of those Target Market Pantry turkey breasts once, and we really didn't like it at all. In fact, we found it inedible. If you need to be careful with turkey, this may not be a good one for you. You may do better with a fresh one even if you end up freezing it yourself for later.

Somehow I missed the egg coupon. Was it in the Target flyer in the paper?

RFB, your fresh meat coupon should be good for the ham. If anyone has any of the $1 off pork coupons left from a while back, they should be good as well.

I just checked the ones in my freezer that I got there the last time, it's their branded turkey breast, Market Pantry.
It says "up to 15% flavoring solution added" and sodium content per 4 oz serving is 29% recommended daily amount .

    Hope that helps!

  • observant Apr 13, 2014

Yeah the price I was hoping to find to re-stock the freezer .
Does anyone know the brand of turkey breast ?
    the sodium content
and/or if it is injected ??
My son had a severe reaction to an Turkey Breast that had been injected and almost died - he has to avoid high sodium as well.
Thank You for any help !
