— A Smithfield man who worked at a local tanning salon has been found guilty of peeping at customers.

Northie McArtan Jr., 57, was sentenced to 12 months' probation for two counts of secret peeping stemming from crimes that happened in September 2009 and April 2011.

As part of his sentencing, McArtan cannot work or operate a tanning salon, and he must not have any contact with the victims. He must also undergo a psychological evaluation.

McArtan had also been accused of sexual battery but was found not guilty of that charge.

norainonmyparade, while we are doing the spelling lesson, let's not forget "lose" and "loose". Lose rhymes with choose; loose rhymes with goose.

"Your" and "you're" are also misused frequently. "Your" means belonging to you; "you're" is a contraction of "you are".

I assume this is a dumb question, but what is the point of the psychological eval.? To find out if he can't adequately control his impulses? Sounds like we've just established that point.
