Headed to worlds
A week or so ago, I wrote about a Raleigh Odyssey of the Mind team that's headed to the world championship in Iowa next month.

Here are details about another team of amazingly talented young people from Raleigh headed to Iowa to compete.

Sycamore Creek Elementary School's "No Cycle Recycle" team is made up of fourth and fifth graders who came in first in the OM regional competition and first in the state-wide competition in their division. They are now raising money to offset the team's expenses for competing in the world competition, which is May 25 to May 28.

I'm told that they've currently raised a little more than $4,000 toward their $15,000 goal. The team has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money toward their efforts.

It also is holding a fundraising event on May 13 at Lonerider Brewery, 8816 Gulf Ct., Suite 100, Raleigh. The event will include a silent auction, food, drinks and entertainment.

I know they would appreciate your support! Good luck to the team from Sycamore Creek!
