Durham police are investigating an armed robbery at a sweepstakes parlor early Saturday.

Police said a man held up the business on N.C. Highway 55 about 8 a.m. and fled. A police dog assisted in the search, and two officers caught him in a nearby field.

Officers said they released the man later because there was not enough evidence to arrest him.

Police could not confirm how much money was taken in the robbery, which remains under investigation.
