Mega Swag Bucks Friday, new SB homepage & birthday blowout reminder!

Posted February 22, 2013

There is alot going on at Swagbucks this week! First, there is a new Swagbucks homepage layout. Second, it's Mega Swagbucks Friday and third, Monday is their big Birthday Blowout! Read on for all the details and ways to earn gift cards to tons of great stores!

New Homepage Layout

Swagbucks rolled out a new homepage layout this week designed to help you earn more Swag Bucks faster! The top navigation bar is now home to the Swag Code box - access it by clicking the round button - which means you can redeem your codes anytime, anywhere!

The different ways you can earn have been broken out into verbs, so you can more quickly get to what you want. They've broken their homepage up into three "channels": On the left is the Accomplishment Channel, where you can check on your Daily Goal Meter, Daily Earning Checklist and connect with Swagbucks on Social Media.

The Earning Channel is in the center of the screen and is all about ways that you can earn, from the Search box at the top to the Earning Feed filled with offers, surveys and shopping deals. You can view the feed as a list or grid. When you're ready to get your rewards, you can use the Rewards Channel on the right - at the top is a Local Deal (where available) and below that are the top 5 items in the Rewards Store - you can snag them right there, or if you don't have the Swag Bucks it'll tell you how many more you need to get it.

Swagbucks 5th Birthday Blowout!

Swagbucks is getting ready to celebrate their 5th birthday, and they're doing it in a big way. There are $1000 cash prizes for five lucky Swaggernauts and the chance to win up to 135 bonus SB on their birthday.

You'll also earn Double Swag Bucks in Shop & Earn! Starting at midnight on Monday, Feb 25th and lasting until midnight on Tuesday, all stores in Shop & Earn will give you double the Swag Bucks per dollar spent. In addition to prizes and bonus SB, it's better than double the cash back. This only lasts on Swagbucks.com's brithday, so make sure to shop then to earn your 2X SB.

Mega Swag Bucks Friday!

Remember - today is also Mega Swag Bucks Friday and they award larger than usual Swag Bucks for searching!

New to Swagbucks?

If you're not a member of Swagbucks yet, join me and use the code 5THBIRTHDAY during registration - you'll start with 120 Swag Bucks instead of the usual 30 Swag Bucks you get when you sign up! The code is good through the month of February. Click HERE to register.

How do you get these super Swagbucks? Each time you need to search for something online, use the Swagbucks search engine on their website (instead of Google, for instance). I actually have the Swag Bucks toolbar installed on my desktop and it places a search box right on my screen making it super easy to search. There are also a number of other ways to earn Swag Bucks including taking surveys, answering polls, watching videos, shopping and more.

If you are on Twitter or Facebook, Swagbucks also posts links to codes that will earn you additional Swag Bucks. Once you click the link they give you and find the code (they will tell you how to find it) you then click the cirle at the top of the Swagbucks homepage and copy and paste the code into the code box that will appear when you click the circle.

You are welcome to post links to where these awesome codes codes are located, like their Facebook page or the Swagbucks Twitter page or the Swagbucks blog, but do NOT post the actual codes. Feel free to post the location of codes in the Comments section of this post or in the Share the Deals section here on the blog each day but again, please do not post the actual Swag Bucks code. That's against Swagbucks policy.

If you are new to Swagbucks, I bet you are wondering what you do with the Swagbucks points you earn. They can be cashed in for gift cards, books, magazines, movies and much more! I usually cash mine in for CVS or Amazon.com gift cards. A $5 Amazon gift card code is only 450 Swag Bucks and a $5 Starbucks gift card is 635 Swag Bucks. It's such an easy way to score some freebies while doing the same searches you already do.

Did you enter the code during registration, purl? If so, I'll need for you to e-mail me so we can figure out the issue. My e-mail is saving@smartspendingresources.com

"5THBIRTHDAY during registration - you'll start with 120 Swag Bucks" I just signed up and only got 99 Swag Bucks, not 120. Anyone else have this problem? PLMK, thank you!

I agree, happygirl! But 135 SB's is awesome!

I usually keep up with the daily goal each day. Monday is probably going to be crazy high if we can get a total of 135 in swag codes alone. Ugh! I will have to check for the codes often I guess.
