Raleigh, N.C. — A suspicious package found Thursday at the North Carolina Department of Administration contained no dangerous substances, officials said Friday.
Tests on the package came back negative for toxins, a spokeswoman for Gov. Pat McCrory said. She did not say what the package contained.
A member of McCrory’s staff noticed the package on the first floor of the building, at 116 W. Jones St. in downtown Raleigh, and reported it. A hazmat crew arrived about 5 p.m. to remove it.
The building was briefly evacuated.
