APEX, N.C. — A fire damaged an abandoned house at 1225 Chapel Ridge Road early Saturday, Battalion Chief Alan Capps said.

Calls about the fire came in around 3 a.m., and it took 21 firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control, Capps said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined, but Capps said it is considered suspicious because the house is abandoned.

The house sits behind another two-story home.
