Suspected Wake Forest bank robber arrested in New Orleans

A man was arrested Friday in New Orleans after Wake Forest police said he was wanted in connection with a local bank robbery.

NEW ORLEANS — A man was arrested Friday in New Orleans after Wake Forest police said he was wanted in connection with a local bank robbery, according to officials. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Lanson Paul Stalf, 37, who was wanted on a charge of common law robbery in connection with the crime at PNC Bank, at 3619 Rogers Road, which happened after noon Wednesday in Wake Forest.

Stalf was located by US marshals Friday at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, at 500 Canal Street.

He was being held in the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office until arrangements can be made to transport him to Raleigh, police said.
