FAIRMONT, N.C. — A Maxton man was charged Sunday with breaking into a Fairmont bank after officers found him napping in a bank office, police said Monday.

Justin Christopher Hunt, 20, was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny of a financial institution. He was being held in the Robeson County jail under a $50,500 bond.

Fairmont police officers were called to a BB&T branch at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday after a security company alerted them to an alarm going off inside the bank. Officers found Hunt dozing in an office, with his feet up on the desk, police said.

Officers had to use a Taser on Hunt when he struggled with them during the arrest, but he didn't require medical attention.

Hunt, who wasn't wearing a shirt, told police that he didn't remember how he got to Fairmont, let alone into the bank.
