Suspected jewelry store robbers eyed in fast-food robbery

Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — Three men charged with kidnapping and robbery in Durham are now being looked at in connection with a robbery in Fuquay-Varina.
Denzel Timothy Rasheem Shivers, 19, Vendai Larpist Irick, 22, and Rodney Jerrold Devin Byrd, 20 have been charged in connection with a robbery of Jared the Galleria of Jewelry on Fayetteville Road near The Streets at Southpoint. The men allegedly kidnapped an employee as she was leaving the store and made her return so that they could rob it.
Following the incident, Cary police charged the men in a June 2 robbery of a McDonald's restaurant and a June 17 robbery of a store manager outside a Wells Fargo Bank.
Shivers is also a suspect in the March 2 armed robbery of a Bojangles’ employee.
Fuquay-Varina police are now looking at the 3 men as possible suspects in the robbery of an Arby's on North Main Street.
A search warrant was executed Friday at a home on Cairo Way in Fuquay-Varina.
