DURHAM, N.C. — A man charged with robbing a Durham bank on Thursday has been arrested, police said Monday.

Willie Mortez Daniel, 41, of Lake Road in Creedmoor, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was arrested Saturday in Granville County and was being held in the county jail.

A man handed note demanding money to a teller at the SunTrust branch at 4235 University Drive on Thursday afternoon, police said. The man held his hand under his shirt as if he had a gun, but no weapon was seen.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a dark blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. A second man and a woman also were in the vehicle.

Daniel also is charged with breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and larceny in an incident in Granville County last week, police said.
