ZEBULON, N.C. — A suspected drunken driver struck a bicyclist in Zebulon Saturday evening, according to an arrest warrant.

Police stated in the warrant that Timothy Wilson Hodge, 52, struck the bicyclist along West Gannon Avenue. Hodge kept driving, but an officer who witnessed the wreck stopped his car and arrested him, according to the warrant.

The bicyclist was treated for minor injuries at WakeMed in Raleigh.

Hodge, of 2355 Old U.S. Highway 64 in Spring Hope, tested for a blood alcohol content level of 0.22, and the officer found an open container of alcohol in the passenger seat of his car, the warrant stated.

Police said they also found a 12-gauge shotgun in his car.

Hodge was charged with felony hit-and-run causing injury and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $20,000 secured bond and scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Police said that he was convicted of felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a contraband substance in 1986.
