Suspect sought in fatal Wilson stabbing

Police said Thursday they are searching for a man in connection with an early morning stabbing death in Wilson.

WILSON, N.C. — Police said Thursday they are searching for a man in connection with an early morning stabbing death in Wilson.

Joseph Cornell Bullock, 36, died at Wilson Medical Center at about 1:30 a.m. from a stab wound, police said. Investigators determined the stabbing occurred in the 800 block of Woodrow St., and they obtained an arrest warrant charging Rashemell Pete-Melvin Freeman, 35, with murder in Bullock's death.

No information was provided about a possible motive for the stabbing.

Freeman wasn't in custody Thursday, and Wilson police asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to call them at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
