Suspect sought in Durham bank robbery

Durham police are investigating a robbery at SunTrust Bank, 1231 University Drive, on Friday afternoon.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a robbery at SunTrust Bank, 1231 University Drive, on Friday afternoon.

Police said a man entered the bank around 1:10 p.m. and handed a teller a note, demanding money. No weapon was seen.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black man with a dark complexion, 45 to 50 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 to 190 pounds. He had facial hair and a discolored lower lip. He was wearing black sunglasses, a white hat with a denim bill, an oversized denim shirt with long sleeves, light-colored blue jeans and white tennis shoes with red around the soles.
