Suspect sketch released in Cary burglaries

Posted September 2, 2010

— Cary police have developed a sketch of a suspect in a recent series of daytime burglaries at homes in the Nottingham Drive area.

Police said that in the past two weeks, six residential burglaries and one attempted burglary have occurred at unoccupied homes. Stolen items include gaming systems, jewelry and money.

Witnesses told police that they saw a man ringing doorbells repeatedly, then going around to the back of a house and throwing a rock or brick through sliding glass doors.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s, between 5 foot 3 inches and 5 foot 10 inches tall. He weighs between 130 and 160 pounds and has a thin build.

Anyone near the area during the time of the burglaries was asked to call Cary police at 919-469-4324 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.

Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 rewards for the arrest or indictment of suspects in certain crimes. Tips are kept confidential at the caller's request.

blab, if you follow the news closely you will notice that almost 100% of this type of crime originates from people that don't live in cary. you know...let's go trick or treating in the rich kids neighboorhoods mentality. same for cary towne center. nottingham in cary is just about as close to garner as you can get.

i think tomorrow i'll leave garage door up with my rott wilder on the invisible fence. i might even forget to feed him is food tonight.

"I would love to catch one of these punks in the act!

Don't be too anxious to catch one. I caught one and held him at gunpoint until the police arrived. He explained to the cop that he broke in because he was hungry. The cop even asked him if I threatened him with the gun. If he had said yes I'm pretty sure I would have been charged. He bargained with a lower plea (probably improper muffler) and didn't serve a day.
