— A Lee County sheriff’s deputy is on administrative leave after shooting a suspect in the arm Tuesday evening, Sheriff Tracy Lynn Carter said.

The man was shot at about 10:30 p.m. at a residence on Courtland Drive at the Greenland Mobile Home Park, near Sanford.

The suspect, whose name was not released, barricaded himself inside the home with a weapon. The suspect shot at the deputy and the deputy fired back, Carter said.

The suspect was taken into custody.

The SBI is investigating the shooting, following standard procedure for all officer-involved shootings.

    Good job LCSO.
By the way you shoot to stop the threat. If that means one round or 10.

"Message to LEO......AIM HIGHER AND HIT YOUR TARGET ON CENTER!"---

Message to you. Go back to your cushy job and get a clue. That is unless you want to come out there and do it, then you might be able to judge. you have no clue what it's like to fire under duress, so get back to work.

"Suspect shot in arm by Lee County deputy"

Translation: Deputy fired at suspect, but missed. Probably couldn't get off a good shot.

This is for those that believe you should shoot to injure, rather than kill.
