RALEIGH, N.C. — An Apex man pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the death nearly two years ago of a man who was shot in the chest.

Christopher Calvin Rogers, 25, was sentenced to 11 to 15 years in prison for the death of Dynomite Dwight Gooch, 23, who was injured Dec. 17, 2012, in a shooting at a home on Old Smithfield Road in Apex.

Rogers and another man, Terrel Jamal Bankhead, of Holly Springs, were charged with first-degree murder in February 2013, after Gooch died.

Bankhead, 24, is still awaiting trial.
